  JJ and his team at Kenai River Trout Anglers are absolutely top-notch. Not only do they put you on huge fish, but they genuinely take care of you and your group from start to finish. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone has an incredible experience, regardless of skill level. I can personally say this is one of those trips you’ll be talking about long after it’s over. If you’re planning to fish the Kenai River, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to book with JJ and his crew. I highly recommend Kenai River Trout Anglers and will absolutely fish with them again.

• 5Great fishing experience

  We had a wonderful fishing experience with Matt. We found him patient, kind and skillful. We had much fun catching sockeye salmon, rainbow and Dolly Varden trout. Had a great day full of memories!

• 5We’ll be back to fish with Owen

  Second year fishing with KRTA. Requested Owen for our guide because we had so much fun fishing with him last year. We fished multiple techniques with fly rods and introduced our nephews to fly fishing experience. Owen was a great teacher and they had fun learning.fishing was good including a fun walk/wade trip. The trips are well organized and the boats and equipment are good. We’ll be back again. Thanks for a fun 2 days Rick Finch

• 5Fishing with Matt

  My wife and I had the pleasure of fly fishing with Matt Rima for two days on the Kenai. We have done many float trips around the world and Matt was a great guide and one of the best we’ve fished with. He has excellent knowledge of the river and the area, is a skilled oarsman, and put us on fish. He listened to our preferences, has a patient and quiet approach, and gave instructions when needed. We caught numerous nice trout on dry flys and nymphs and I highly recommend Matt and Kenai River Trout Anglers !

• 5BEST GUIDES ON THE KENAI

  Brandon is the BEST and most knowledgeable guide on the Kenai River. No one cares more about helping you catch fish than these guys. I’ve fished with them every summer for 4 years and have never had a disappointing day. Fish on fish every time.

About Soldotna

Soldotna is a small Kenai Peninsula town on the Kenai River, known for its salmon fishing and as the base for the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.

Soldotna stands on the Kenai River in the lowlands of the western Kenai Peninsula, where the Sterling Highway crosses the water on a long bridge. It began as a homesteading settlement after the Second World War and is now the commercial centre of the peninsula, with shops, a hospital and the offices of the borough government. The river here runs wide and cold, a milky turquoise from glacial silt.
