5. This medieval stone bridge was the only bridge in Florence spared from destruction during World War II. 6. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site "Piazza dei Miracoli" (Miracle Square) in Pisa. Here you will have the time to discover and admire universally known monuments such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Pisa Cathedral, the Pisa Baptistry and the Camposanto Monumentale (Monumental Cemetery), all magnificent examples of Romanesque architecture.

7. The bell tower, known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, is by far the most famous building within the "Piazza dei Miracoli". Begun in 1173, the tower has been leaning since the beginnings of its construction and it is widely recognized as an outstanding feat of engineering. This spectacular monument can been enjoyed from the ground or by climbing tho 273 steps to the top, where you will get an beautiful view over the surroundings.

About Livorno

Livorno is a working port on the Tuscan coast, with canals, a sea fortress, a chequered seafront terrace and the cacciucco fish stew.

Livorno became a major port when the Medici rulers of Florence built it up in the late sixteenth century, and they invited merchants of every faith and country, so the city mixes Greek, Jewish, Dutch and English heritage. The Fortezza Vecchia guards the old harbour, and the Monument of the Four Moors stands near the port. The Venezia Nuova quarter has canals crossed by small bridges.
