In evidenza
What sets our tour apart is the way we combine an authentic small-group trekking experience with genuine local hospitality and responsible tourism. Rather than simply visiting Emerald Lagoon, our travelers experience the journey through the Fuegian forests, peat bogs, streams and mountain valleys with a professional local guide who shares knowledge about the environment and the unique ecosystems of Tierra del Fuego. We also include a homemade box lunch, allowing our guests to enjoy a local-style meal surrounded by nature. Food is served using reusable materials and we do not provide single-use plastics. At Arpón Trekking, sustainability is part of how we operate. We participate in the Ushuaia Eco Pledge, share environmental awareness information with our travelers, and encourage responsible practices throughout the experience. Our goal is to create memorable trekking experiences while helping protect the destination we love.

Itinerario
Pickup in Ushuaia - We pick you up at your accommodation and drive toward the Tierra Mayor Valley. As we leave Ushuaia, the urban landscape quickly gives way to forests, valleys and mountains.
Enter the Fuegian forest - The trek begins among native lenga trees. Your guide will introduce you to the characteristic vegetation and landscapes of Tierra del Fuego.
Cross peatlands and valleys - The trail continues through peatland areas and open valleys. The terrain changes as we progress, creating a constantly changing landscape.
Follow the Esmeralda River - We continue toward the lagoon following the natural valley and the Esmeralda River. The mountains become increasingly prominent as we approach our destination.
After approximately 5 km of hiking, we reach Laguna Esmeralda. Depending on the season, the lagoon may appear as a deep emerald-colored body of water, partially frozen or completely covered by snow and ice. We will have time to enjoy the scenery, take photographs and relax.
Lunch at the lagoon - We enjoy our box lunch and a hot drink before beginning the return hike.
Return to Ushuaia - We return along the trail to the starting point, where our transportation will take us back to Ushuaia.

5Very good
I had an amazing experience on the hike to Laguna Esmeralda. That place is truly beautiful. Ramón was an excellent guide and Daniel drove us there safely.
2Don't book this tour if...
Don't book this tour if you are arriving on a cruise ship, unless you are absolutely sure you arrive and can get off the ship by 9:30am.
5Beautiful lagoon and cute birds
Great guide, very beautiful landscape. Group was 50% spanish and 50% north american. Could feed small birds from my hand with nuts. 10/10 would do again
5Good hike in the snow!
This isn’t a difficult hike but you do need to take it seriously (it had been snowing that morning)! The tour operator rightly insisted on boots (not trail shoes) which we hired for around £6. Our guide was very good and informative. Always a pleasure to hike in a group.
5Tough memorable hike with snow and mud
Tough trekking with snow, slush and mid. Nicholas did great job..if we didnt rent the water proof boots and clothes from Cambre, it would have been a disastrous trekking. You need to be conditioned to tackle this wet terrain. Check the weather and conditions.
5Dont think twice, Book it!
This is simply the best part of our Ushuaia trip! Everything is perfect: very responsive and attentive in the preparations prior to the trip (recommended a place to rent gears); morning pickup on time - and our guide Juan is the BEST.. we are also lucky to have a good group with us! High recommended experience!

About Ushuaia
Ushuaia, on the Beagle Channel in Tierra del Fuego, is often called the southernmost city in the world, a port ringed by snowy peaks.
Ushuaia sits on a narrow shelf between the Beagle Channel and the Martial mountains, in the Argentine half of Tierra del Fuego. It began as a mission and later became a penal colony, and the old prison, now a museum, tells that story alongside the maritime history of the far south. Painted houses climb the slope, and the harbour is where expedition ships leave for Antarctica.
Top-ranked sights in Ushuaia: Tierra del Fuego National Park, Lapataia Bay, Beagle Channel.
