About Daytona Beach
Daytona Beach is a Florida Atlantic resort city known for its wide hard-packed beach, its speedway and its long racing history.
Daytona Beach lies on Florida's Atlantic coast, where a broad strip of hard-packed sand runs for kilometres and cars are allowed to drive on parts of the beach. Racing began here in the early 1900s, and the Daytona International Speedway, which holds the Daytona 500 each February, is the city's best-known landmark. The boardwalk and Main Street Pier, with arcades and an amusement area, stand at the heart of the beachfront.
Top-ranked sights in Daytona Beach: Halifax River, Daytona International Speedway, Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
