Itinerario
Some of the most important building are located here: Mitropolitan Church, Lloyd Palace, Szechenyi palace, Opera house. After a short introduction into Romanian history we are going to talk about this Piata Victoriei square, it's role in '89 revolution and the building belongs to it.
For the ones interested in '89 revolution is the best place to start our tour, since is also the place there the revolution starts.
In medieval times, Timisoara fortress (Vauban architecture) had 8 bastions nad 3 fortification walls. Today only one bastion is still visible, Theresia.
We explore the buildings in Traian Square, old synagogue and beer factory, oldest in Romania
We ride our bikes along the Bega river on cycle paths to discover the city.
We go on single trails within Padurea Verde.

Timișoara is the main city of the Banat in western Romania, with colourful Habsburg squares, rose gardens, canals and a place in the story of 1989.
Timișoara is the largest city of the Banat, in western Romania near the Serbian and Hungarian borders, and the Habsburg era left it with wide squares and pastel baroque and Secession buildings. Union Square, with its baroque cathedral and the Serbian Orthodox cathedral, is the centre of the old town, while Victory Square is lined with the opera house and the Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral, with its coloured tiled roof.
