In evidenza

Discover the breathtaking Anaga Rural Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve on Tenerife, where ancient laurel forests whisper secrets of the past and dramatic landscapes unfold like a living tapestry. Immerse yourself in one of the oldest natural spaces in the Canary Islands, with relict vegetation from the Tertiary era, misty trails, and panoramic views blending rugged mountains with the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. Picking you up in the morning from your accommodation, we’ll first head to the Anaga mountain range. During your trek, we’ll visit numerous observation decks, travel through an ancient preserved forest and visit a local village in which the inhabitants built their homes in caves. The highlight of the trip, though, will be a visit to the village of Benijo, where we will taste local Canarian cuisine and visit one of the most vibrant beaches on the island. Plenty of stops for photos and stories along the way.

Itinerario

  1. We will begin our journey with a short drive to reach the first viewpoint in Anaga (ANG). Depending on where you are staying in Tenerife, this stage will take no more than one hour.

    1 h

  2. We will be passing by the first capital of Tenerife. Today, it stands as the island's largest historical center and is a UNESCO World Heritage site in its entirety. It would be a missed opportunity not to drive through its beautiful streets or stop for a moment to truly connect with the rich history of the Canary Islands.

  3. At this location, we will make two distinct stops at spectacular viewpoints. One of them offers a stunning 360° panoramic view on clear days, providing a full perspective of the island's rugged beauty. You will also have the opportunity to walk through the relict laurel forest. This is a unique chance to see with your own eyes the ancient endemic species that have survived on Tenerife since before the last Ice Age. It is a living museum of natural history.

  7. This spot is home to three of the most beautiful black volcanic sand beaches in Tenerife. The waves here are consistently strong, but walking along the shore or even playing in the surf is always a fantastic experience. Even when it is raining up in the Anaga mountains, it is usually comfortable here, and above all, incredibly beautiful. Benijo Beach, located right here, is considered a powerful "energy spot." Don’t forget to bring your swimwear, as we will have plenty of time to enjoy this location.

    1,5 h

  8. We will conclude our visit to Anaga by driving down the mountain serpentines, gradually descending from an altitude of 900 meters to sea level. On our way, we will pass through this cozy town. Many people compare its views to the famous hillside villages of Italy, beautifully perched on the mountain slopes.

    30 min

  9. Our route back takes us through the current capital of Tenerife. It is a modern and beautiful city, with a particularly well-developed port area. We will also pass by the famous Opera House, which has become a symbol of Tenerife, designed by the renowned architect Santiago Calatrava.

About Tenerife

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, dominated by Mount Teide, Spain's highest peak, with black-sand beaches, banana groves and laurel forests.

Tenerife rises from the Atlantic to the 3,715-metre summit of Mount Teide, a volcano whose national park of lava fields, strange rock formations and vast craters is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A cable car climbs most of the way up. The air is so clear that the island hosts astronomical observatories, and stargazing is a pastime in its own right.

Top-ranked sights in Tenerife: Teide National Park (Parque Nacional del Teide), Mt. Teide (El Teide), Masca Valley.
