This is the bucket list D-Day shore excursion from Cabourg — a fully private tour covering the complete American story of June 6, 1944, including Sainte-Mère-Église, where Band of Brothers paratroopers landed before dawn on D-Day. At Pointe du Hoc, as seen in Saving Private Ryan, you walk among the original craters and bunkers where U.S. Army Rangers scaled the cliffs under fire. At Omaha Beach, your guide narrates every sector of the landing. At the Normandy American Cemetery, 9,387 white marble crosses face the English Channel — one of the most moving sights in all of France. This tour is fully customizable. Tell us your interests and we build the day around your group.
Paratroopers rained down on this Norman village as D-Day operations began in June 1944 to liberate Europe from German occupation. Famously, American soldier John Steele was left dangling a time from the medieval church as his parachute got caught on its tower.
This is a promontory with a 100 ft cliff overlooking the English Channel on the northwestern coast of Normandy in the Calvados department, France. During World War II it was the highest point between the American sector landings at Utah Beach to the west and Omaha Beach to the east.

Caen, in Normandy, is the city of William the Conqueror, with two great abbeys, a hilltop castle and the D-Day beaches within easy reach.
Caen sits on the Orne in Lower Normandy, and William the Conqueror made it a base in the 11th century, building the castle that still dominates the old centre. He is buried in the Abbaye aux Hommes, and his wife Matilda in the Abbaye aux Dames, two Romanesque abbeys on opposite sides of the centre. Much of the city was destroyed in the Battle of Normandy in 1944 and rebuilt in pale Caen stone.
Top-ranked sights in Caen: Honfleur, Caen Memorial Museum (Mémorial de Caen), St. Catherine’s Church (Eglise Sainte-Catherine).
