About Montpellier
Montpellier is a sunny university city in southern France with a pedestrian old town, a handsome main square and beaches within easy reach.
Montpellier's old centre, the Écusson, is a shield-shaped web of lanes closed to cars, centred on the oval Place de la Comédie, where the Three Graces fountain stands in front of the 19th-century opera house.
