Itinerario

  1. The Ostrog Monastery is an Orthodox monastery found at the high point of the mountain Ostroska Greda, sitting on a nearly vertical cliff in Montenegro. It is dedicated to St. Basil of Ostrog. The monastery includes Upper and Lower monasteries. This Orthodox church celebrates St. Basil of Ostrog on May 12th as per the Gregorian calendar. St. Basil of Ostrog is a great miracle worker whose miraculous works are well known beyond the boarders of the Serbian Orthodox Church. His holy body has been resting in the Ostrog estate for over 300 years, defining the law of rotting. The church where the Saint lies is filled with a pleasant scent that amazes every visitor. The Monastery is 105km away from Tivat and takes approximately 105 minutes to arrive (including stops on the way).

About Kotor

Kotor is a walled medieval town at the head of a winding bay in Montenegro, with mountain walls, Venetian palaces and a fortress high above.

Kotor lies at the end of the Bay of Kotor, a deep, winding inlet often described as a fjord, though it is really a drowned river canyon, with steep mountains rising directly from the water. The old town, a UNESCO site, is enclosed by Venetian-era walls and entered by the Sea Gate, and inside are small squares, a clock tower and the Romanesque cathedral of St Tryphon, consecrated in 1166.

Top-ranked sights in Kotor: Bay of Kotor, Our Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Skrpjela), Kotor Old Town.
