1. Sailors will see the beautiful city of Hobart, its historic docks and surrounding mountains and forests from the large sheltered harbour. Sometimes there will be other yachts racing on the harbour and sometimes we will be visited by curious dolphins and seals. Very occasionally we will see whales and orca. Sailors will experience what it is really like sailing aboard a large ocean-going yacht, and they can take turns on the winches or even try their hand at the wheel if they like.

• 4Yacht experience

  It was nice experience to have sailing in such big Yacht. To start with, the weather wasn’t that perfect. Then moving along, it changed a bit and sun shine turned up. Then the wind picked up. That is when the excitement kicked in. The cheeses provided tasted very nice. I got an experience to control the yacht which added the extra bonus fun.

• 5A must do when in Hobart

  Fantastic day! Mark, Grant & Lachie were all great. We were encouraged to be as involved as we wanted (or not in my case!) Moving around the yacht was supported by crew as needed, oh and the sailing, exhilarating experience! Every second they could the motor was off and it was all in the wind! The stories and local knowledge shared by crew were amazing too! A must do! I’ll be back!

• 5A beautiful informative fantastic experience

  We did not know what to expect but was amazed. Mark and Jimmy were so informative pointing out points of interest against the pristine and beautiful Hobart landscape. We would do this tour again in a heartbeat. Would definitely recommend.

About Hobart

Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, is a harbour city of sandstone warehouses and colonial cottages beneath the slopes of Mount Wellington.

Hobart sits where the Derwent River widens into a deep harbour, with Mount Wellington rising behind it to more than 1,200 metres, often dusted with snow in winter. Founded in 1804, it is the second-oldest of Australia's capital cities. The sandstone warehouses of Salamanca Place, the cottages of Battery Point and the yachts moored at Constitution Dock give the waterfront its character.
