After we meet by the helicopter pad, we will have transport taking us to Grand Anse where we will start the actual walk towards Anse Marron beach.
Approximately in the middle of our walk we will reach Anse Marron beach which consists of a more open, bigger stretch of sand and a smaller beach with the access to a lagoon protected with the rocks. There you will be served light lunch and will have about 1-1.5 hours (depending on the tide schedule) of relaxing time.
We will reach Anse Source d'Argent beach at the end of our tour. It is one of the most famous beaches in Seychelles and one of the most photographed beaches in the world with lots of beautiful rock formations. You can spend the remaining of your available time here or walk towards the ending point with Gerard near helicopter pad where we started the tour.
Upon finishing the tour, you will be able to walk through L'Union Estate Park (admission is not included in the tour price) where you can see the giant tortoises, vanilla plantation, old plantation house which is a museum now. This is the place where we finish the tour. You can spend there as much of the remaining time as you want, or leave the park together with me towards the very end point near the helicopter pad where we started the tour.

5Hard work with BIG reward!
This is a long and difficult hike through the nature, sliding through rocks and sometimes through the water. Make sure to pack a lot of water, sun protection, bug spray and water shoes. Although challenging, it is so worth it! The views are never ending. You get to go to private, stunning beaches and hear all about the island’s history and wildlife. Our tour guide was excellent. It was the high light of our trip here in the Seychelles
5Highlight of the Year!!!
It was the highlight in La Digue. Gerard is a very experienced and smart guide. Knows a lot about the nature and gives impressing insights. The brings a full load of humor and empathy together. Always would do the tour again with him. He was very helpful and supportive espacially when we did the not so easy part through the waves at high tide. For us as a family of 5 it was the highlight of the year. We enjoyed every minute with Gerard and his special lunch ceremony with a decorative basket out of leaves.
1The tour guide had to...
The tour guide had to cancel the original tour date, which was unfortunate for everyone involved. It would have been helpful if another guide had stepped in to ensure the clients could still enjoy the experience. This way, they wouldn't miss out on the tour entirely. I believe exploring these options could enhance the overall experience for future clients.
5Little island adventure
It has been such a perfect and kind of adventurous day. Gerard told us a lot about the island and its nature and did a great job guiding us all the way. Everyone able to do so should definitely do this hike!
1no show up/guide wasnt there
I am frankly dissappointed. No one came. I waited for 30 min at the meeting spot. Such a shame, i was genuinely excited….
5The best way to experience Anse Marron
Great experience - the hike is slightly challenging - so please carry suitable water proof bags and wear water shoes. The guide Gerald is great.

About La Digue
La Digue is a small granite island in the Seychelles where people cycle or ride ox-carts, with some of the world's most photographed beaches.
La Digue is the fourth-largest of the Seychelles' granite islands, only about five kilometres long, named after a ship of the French explorer Marion du Fresne. There is little traffic. Most people cycle, and ox-carts still carry some visitors along the lanes. The main settlement, La Passe, is a landing quay with a few cafés, shops and guesthouses, and a track leads on to the old coconut plantation at L'Union Estate.
