Hoogtepunten

In one day you can get to know the city of Malindi, with its markets, the hectic African life. To then cross the bridge and immerse yourself in the quiet of Robinson Island and be lulled by the sound of the sea. End the day with a trip to Marafa where Hell's Kitchen is the Devil's Kitchen, as it is hot during the day. You will be fascinated by the tale of the legend of the creation of Marafa, exploring its gorges on foot. You will end the day admiring a beautiful sunset.

  3. Nothing similar is found in all of Africa. It is a large canyon, formed in the Pliocene period, surrounded by very high vertical walls with reddish spiers and stone pillars that reach even 30 meters in height. Hell's Kitchen, which is commonly called Nyari by the locals, (the place that breaks itself) was originally a sandstone place. It was mainly the erosion of rain and wind over the millennia that transformed it into the surreal canyon: a unique miracle of nature, even according to several of the most authoritative geologists on the planet. Visit on foot inside the canyon. The best time to visit it is towards sunset, the rocks take on different colors ranging from white, pink, orange to red.

About Malindi

Malindi is a seaside town on Kenya's north coast with long beaches, coral reefs, Swahili ruins nearby and a monument to Vasco da Gama.

Malindi sits on the Indian Ocean in Kilifi County, at the edge of a wide bay. It is one of the oldest Swahili trading towns on the coast, and the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama was received here in 1498. The Vasco da Gama Pillar, a stone column topped with a cross on a coral headland, recalls the visit, and a small Portuguese chapel dates from the 16th century.
