In this shore excursion Cartagena de Indias will come alive, right in front of your eyes, and it will make you understand, why this port city was an object of desire for pirates and empires. In full air-conditioned vehicles, you are going to see the major landmarks; starting from the 360° view at the top of the mountain of La Popa, and then, going to the inexpugnable Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas. From there on we will ride in a panoramic journey by the streets of the city, going to the Ciénaga de La Virgen and the fishermen village of La Boquilla, where we will have a pit stop to have some local fruits and refreshments. About Cartagena
Cartagena, aan de Caribische kust van Colombia, is een ommuurde koloniale havenstad met balkons vol bloemen, kleurrijke pleinen en warme, muzikale avonden.
De ommuurde oude stad, een UNESCO-werelderfgoed, is een doolhof van geplaveide straten en pleinen met huizen in pasteltinten, kerken en bougainvillea. De Klokkentorenpoort leidt naar de Plaza de los Coches, en de kathedraal, de kerk van San Pedro Claver en het Paleis van de Inquisitie liggen allemaal binnen een paar straten.
