About Santorini

Santorini is een halve maan van vulkanische kliffen in de Egeïsche Zee, met witte dorpen en blauwe koepels boven de caldera en beroemde zonsondergangen.

Het eiland is de rand van een oude vulkaan waarvan de uitbarsting een enorme caldera achterliet die door de zee is gevuld. Aan de rand klampen Fira, de hoofdplaats, en de dorpen Imerovigli en Firostefani zich vast aan de hellingen, terwijl Oia, aan de noordpunt, wordt bejubeld om zijn zonsondergangen boven windmolens en witgekalkte huizen.
