  • 5Very Educational Experience

Obby and Bright were great guides: not only did we get up close to the rhinos, but the whole walk was spent learning how to identify plants, animal droppings, and tracks.

  • 5Awesome experience

Arnolubi Safaris Walking with Rhinos This took place in Mosi oa Tunya NP in Zambia. When I booked this tour, pick up from Vic Falls, Zimbabwe was agreed. But this changed to pick up from Zambia side of border a few days before the tour. That meant an earlier start for me, so that I was dropped by taxi at 06.15 at Zim side and then I walked over bridge to Zambia and through the Zambian border post for the 7am pick up. (As an aside, I had wondered about walking to the Zim border from my Vic Falls hotel hotel in the pre-dawn darkness: having seen an elephant suddenly lumber out from the side of the road as we passed in the taxi, I'm glad I did not!) The tour itself could not have been better. In the company of Simeon and Sunday, plus an armed Park Ranger, we walked near a herd of white rhinos, going quite close whilst being careful not to get so near as to disturb these animals 'comfort zones'. To observe a group of these immense creatures at close quarters in their natural habitat was awesome in the true sense of the word. Simeon had great knowledge of the rhinos and of the other fauna and flora we encountered whilst in the Park. Walking with Rhinos was a memorable experience that I would heartily recommend.

  • 5Outstanding experience. Must do!

The trip was sensational. Saw rhinos, had a fantastic break with coffee and snacks as well as a safari drive. I could not recommend this high enough. Arnold and his team were well organised, on time and very friendly as a solo traveller to Zambia. I would definitely recommend doing this trip.

  • 5A stone's throw away from white rhinos!

What an incredible and unique experience. As I went during the beginning of the rainy season, the park had already turned extremely lush. This usually means that spotting many rhinos can be more difficult as there are plenty of good food options. However, I was super lucky to be able to see 7 out of 10 rhinos found in the park, one of which is the youngest baby. We hiked through the bush for just over an hour—as it was low season, I was yet again lucky because it was just myself, Arnold, a guide-in-training, and an armed ranger. We only came across one other, small group the whole time. Once we wrapped up our trekking, we went on a short, 30 minute game drive through the park and back towards Livingstone. Didn't have quite as much luck during this as we did during the rhino walking, but there were still some neat animals to see around. Overall, this was a very reasonable price and worth doing if you haven't been up close to rhinos before.

  • 5The BEST and ONLY company to go with

These guys are the absolute best and I’ve done a lot of traveling. Arnold is amazing with great communication and such knowledge of rhinos and plants in the area. We were the only ones there at that time in the morning and saw all 10 rhinos eating and playing together. It felt like we stayed forever and were never rushed. Since this is on foot you get a totally different experience than in a car. As we were leaving people were pulling up in cars but by then the rhinos had separated so they only saw a few. It was the highlight of our trip and we did a lot of activities. We were always safe but also got pretty close to the rhinos. I don’t usually write reviews but I had to for this. This is the ONLY company to go with if you want the most out of your rhino visit.

About Livingstone

Livingstone is a Zambian town on the Zambezi River, a few kilometres from Victoria Falls, with a colonial centre, wildlife and river adventures.

Livingstone stands on the northern bank of the Zambezi, about ten kilometres from Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, the Smoke That Thunders. The town grew after the railway arrived in 1905 and was capital of Northern Rhodesia until 1935. It is named after David Livingstone, who in 1855 became the first European to see the falls, and the Livingstone Museum holds his letters and local history.
