About Barranquilla
Barranquilla is Colombia's Caribbean river port on the Magdalena, famous for its Carnival, its music and as the home town of Shakira.
Barranquilla stands where the wide Magdalena River meets the Caribbean, and its port made it a gateway to Colombia in the early twentieth century.
