About Jodhpur

Jodhpur, the Blue City of Rajasthan, spreads beneath the great Mehrangarh Fort at the edge of the Thar Desert, its old houses washed in blue.

Rao Jodha founded Jodhpur in 1459, and the huge Mehrangarh Fort still stands on a rocky ridge above the old city, its walls and palaces holding museums of arms, palanquins and painted rooms.
