On your return from the Gorge walk where you would have admired the falls, rapids and maybe even had a dip in the river, this may be a great option for lunch in the cafe

5. On your way to the winery, be sure to stop at the causeway for a swim in the pristine waters, and take a few minutes to soak up the valley serenity. Then its on to the winery for some samples of the unique triopical fruits wines. This boutique winery experience will itself be a highlight of your holiday

6. Worth waiting the whole day for, kick back and relax at this stunning venue. The pedalling is over, now its time to dig in to the chocolate! About Port Douglas

Port Douglas is a relaxed seaside town on Queensland's tropical coast, set between the Daintree rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef.

Port Douglas began as a gold-rush port in the 1870s and is now an easygoing resort town on a spit of land between the Coral Sea and Dickson Inlet. Four Mile Beach curves away to the north fringed with palms, Macrossan Street holds the cafés and restaurants, and Flagstaff Hill gives a view over the beach and the mountains behind. A small white chapel, St Mary's by the Sea, stands beside the park at the water's edge.
