Enjoy nature in the clouded forest of the majestic Volcano Mombacho, with a height of more than 1300 meters above sea level, one of Nicaragua's most famous volcanoes. There are only two clouded forests on the country's Pacific coast, the other being on Maderas Volcano. Hiking and zip-lining adventure. The volcano offers fantastic views of Lake Nicaragua and the city of Granada. About Managua
Managua, capital of Nicaragua, lies on the south shore of Lake Managua, with crater lakes, a ruined cathedral and the Masaya volcano close by.
Managua spreads along the south shore of Lake Managua, below a line of volcanic hills, in the Pacific lowlands of Nicaragua. Earthquakes in 1931 and 1972 damaged the old centre, and the shell of the old cathedral still stands near the lakefront, beside the National Palace, which now houses a museum. The modern Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, topped with many small domes, stands nearby.
