Hoogtepunten

Lucknow, a city which upholds many cultures, heritage and arts of Uttar Pradesh, resonating in every corner. It gained prominence when Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula shifted the capital of Awadh from Faizabad to this city in 1775. On this two hours walking tour we take you to the traditional eateries where the oldest dates back to 1825, show you some traditional shops for famous Lucknabi Kebab – Like Tundey Kebab & specialise in sun-dried lentil-nuggets and accompaniments like papadums, pickles, preserves, chutneys for ages and still rule the dinner tables at Lucknow homes. Taste not only the tangy chaat and the coolest kulfi on this tour but also end it with a paan (betel-leaf preparation) that is nothing short of a dessert.

About Lucknow

Lucknow, capital of Uttar Pradesh, is a city of Nawabi palaces, grand imambaras and refined Awadhi cooking beside the Gomti River.

Lucknow was the capital of the Nawabs of Awadh in the 18th and 19th centuries, who left a city of domes, gateways and gardens. The Bara Imambara, built in the 1780s, has a vast vaulted hall and an upper labyrinth, the Bhul Bhulaiya, and the Rumi Darwaza, a towering gate, stands nearby. The Chota Imambara, the Husainabad clock tower and the Residency, whose ruins carry the marks of the siege of 1857, complete a historic circuit.
