1. Zeus sent two eagles in order to discover the center of the world. The two eagles met here, in Delphi, the Panhellenic sanctuary, the most important oracle and the religious and spiritual center of ancient Greece. Delphi is located at the foot of mount Parnassus and is a world heritage of Unesco. The sanctuary was at its peak during the 8 th century BC. The archaeological museum of Delphi worths a visit to admire masterpieces of the classical greek art such as the Sphinx of Naxos, the Charioteer, the statue of Antinous and more.
