I am lucky enough to live in this postcard picturesque area on the edge of the famous Cotswolds region. It's easily reached from Oxford city- where I happen to be an experienced tour guide too. So if you book a tour with me, not only can I tell you lots about the Cotswolds heritage but also its connections to Oxford and eg the famous Oxford pre Raphaelite artists such as William Morris who lived in this region. On this tour, I will also introduce the historical sites such as the ruins of a medieval manor house and flora and fauna. I am a keen gardener myself. The route is total about 8-9 miles walking and we stop for a garden lunch pub stop. The cost of lunch is not included but a table is reserved. The walking route is part on walking paths through the meadows and part on quiet scenic country lanes. If the tour does not show as available on the date that you would like to book it, ask viator to call us. We avoid listing dates too far outside spring or autumn weather.
Minster Lovell ruins of medieval manor home is very atmospheric. The village of Minster Lovell is also very pretty with rose adorned thatched cottages alongside a stream. This is ideal stop for lunch or drinks too.
Burford is known as, 'the gateway to the Cotswolds' as it sits on a popular historical highway point. The village has such a scenic high street that it's been used in several historical tv dramas. Burford has lots of tea shops and quaint shops too. The tour ends here and I can assist you to find timetabled bus to get to where you need to be after the tour.
The tour starts here and this is a gorgeous village with pretty thatched cottages, cricket field and a 700 year old pub! Plus the ruins of Minster Lovell. We spend the first hour or the tour, exploring this village.

Oxford is England's famous university city, with honey-coloured colleges, libraries, museums and river meadows beside the Thames and the Cherwell.
Oxford has been a university town since the 12th century, and its dreaming spires belong to colleges that stand shoulder to shoulder around quadrangles and gardens. The Radcliffe Camera, a round domed library, the Bodleian Library, the Sheldonian Theatre and Christ Church, whose dining hall inspired scenes in the Harry Potter films, are the best known. The Hertford Bridge, a covered footbridge nicknamed the Bridge of Sighs, links two parts of one college.
Top-ranked sights in Oxford: Bodleian Library, Radcliffe Camera, Trinity College .
