5Lalibela tour guide is amazing!!!!!
The guide Danial was amazing. the tour was wonderful and I really had a fantastic time. He answered all of my questions. The churches were so cool.
5Exceptional tour
My tour with Dan was nothing short of exceptional. He was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited and shared engaging stories and history. Well-organized and punctual, making the most of our time together. He also customized the tour to meet my interests perfectly. Good value; well worth the money. Definitely recommend.
5Great Experience with Dan tours
My family used Daniel for our trip to Lalibela last month and can't recommend his services enough. Everything was well planned, safe and Daniel was very knowledgeable. His family have been preachers at the churches for decades so he knows the area well. You can't go wrong booking with him.
5The Best Way to Experience Lalibela: A Truly Local Expert
Visiting a UNESCO World Heritage Site is always a memorable experience, but it becomes truly exceptional when you explore it with a knowledgeable local guide. That is exactly what Daniel offers. Daniel is a true expert on Lalibela. He knows every corner of the rock-hewn churches in both church clusters, and his reputation is such that the priests greet him by name wherever he goes. In fact, his connection to Lalibela goes beyond professional expertise—he grew up here and, as a child, even played hide-and-seek inside one of the largest churches. Getting around Lalibela on your own is not as straightforward as it may seem. Local transportation is designed primarily for residents, and moving between the airport and the different churches can be challenging for visitors. Having someone waiting for you at the airport, organizing all the logistics, and guiding you through each church with rich historical, cultural, and religious explanations makes an enormous difference. If you are making the journey to one of the world's most extraordinary heritage sites, investing in an experienced local guide like Daniel is one of the best decisions you can make. His knowledge, personal connections, and lifelong familiarity with Lalibela transform a visit into an unforgettable experience.
4Unforgetable Lalibela Churches
A short but beautiful visit to Lalibela, to see the amazing orthodox churches. Daniel picked me up at the airport and transported to the hotel, which is a decent, clean with good wifi connection. Daniel was very knowledgeable on the history of these churches, and was a good source of information. I was hoping to have a more memorable Ethiopian meals, but there is hardly any choice and the focus was just visiting the churches. Try to go with a group of tourists/friends, so that the price is more affordable. Neverthless, overall the trip was worth it.

About Lalibela
Lalibela is a highland town in northern Ethiopia, famous for eleven medieval churches carved down into solid rock and still used for worship.
Lalibela stands at about 2,500 metres in the Lasta mountains of northern Ethiopia. Its eleven churches were cut from the red volcanic rock in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, traditionally under King Lalibela, and UNESCO has listed the site since 1978. The freestanding ones were carved downward from the surface, roof first. The cross-shaped Biete Giyorgis stands alone in a deep pit, and Biete Medhane Alem is among the largest.
