This is not a drive-by tour and it's not a shopping trip! We get up close with fascinating explanations and stories about historical sites, works of public art, and museum exhibits. Our walking tour has been vetted for quality by the local Office of Tourism and Tlaquepaque's Historic Committee. The town is situated between the airport and Guadalajara’s historic center, so only 30 minutes from both. A visit is the perfect day trip!

Itinerario
The main attractions of this beloved magic pueblo are all found within approximately 8 square blocks. Our walking tour starts in Independence Street, a favorite destination for multi-generational Mexican families. It's lined with former mansions, impressive sculptures , and historic buildings. We´ll visit the Regional Ceramics Museum where you can see the work of some of the potters who have made Tlaquepaque internationally famous for its artisanal excellence. We stop at El Refugio, a former hospital and now the town's cultural center. Hear the ghost stories! We stroll through beautiful Hidalgo Garden and we walk to the nearby Parish and Sanctuary. Our last stop is at the famous El Parian, Latin America's largest cantina with a fascinating history all its own.

About Guadalajara
Guadalajara, capital of Jalisco, is a big Mexican city of colonial plazas, murals, mariachi and tequila, in the highlands of the west.
Guadalajara sits in the western highlands, at around 1,500 metres, and calls itself the cradle of mariachi and tequila. The historic centre is arranged around a cross of plazas, with the twin spires of the cathedral, the Palacio de Gobierno, which has a huge mural of Miguel Hidalgo by José Clemente Orozco, and the neoclassical Degollado Theatre. The Hospicio Cabañas, a former orphanage, is a UNESCO site with more Orozco murals.
