Itinerario

1. Starting from your hotel we head to “Potamies” an Authentic Cretan village.There we will make our first stop, in a traditional mitato where we will meet a local shepherd with his family.

   30 min

2. Wandering among the gardens of the village with the fresh fruits and vegetables of the season and the aromas we will reach the dam of Aposelemis, the largest water supply project in Crete. The village of Sfendili is submerged in the waters of the dam with its impressive old houses fading on the surface of the water.

   10 min

3. We continue, for perhaps the most representative village of Crete, Avdou. Characteristic of the settlement, all the buildings preserved and with signs with all the information about how the village was shaped then.

4. Then we will start our ascent using dirt roads, we will pass through the gorge Of “Ebassas”. The view of the imposing mountains and the wild beauty of nature will reward you. At the short stop, the guide will collect various local herbs (oregano, thyme, sage) as the Cretans used to do.

5. Time for the sunset! Beautiful images as if taken from another setting accompanied by cool Prosecco and fresh seasonal fruits. Breathtaking views , photo shooting , romantic moments !

  We were met o time outside our hotel and joined 3 other couples on this jeep safari! All had to take turns to sit In the back too ....great fun 😃 Michael has a,wealth of knowledge and made the trip very interesting. The sunset was spectacular.....a memory made forever. Meal afterwards was tasty and the trip back was again just lovely . Thankyou Michael! Great fun and different from the usual trips you find o holiday .

• 5Fantastic sunset tour....

  This was the most amazing experience from beginning to end booked through Cretan Tours. Our guide Hans was amazing.... Very knowledgeable and very accommodating. The village tour and then sunset experience was fantastic also the meal in a local Village taverna at the end of the night was incredible. Food and wine was delicious and plentiful. This experience was worth every penny as we paid 84 euros each and would recommend this to everyone. Very moving and spiritual experience watching the sunset on a beautiful evening in Crete.... Overall five star complete luxurious evening.

  Michael, Woo woo!! Fantastic from start to finish, great banter, great music, went above and beyound to make our journey the best evening we could have had. Right amount of stops added a few extra which was great. Couldn’t recommend this company enough!

• 5Wonderful way to see Crete & Enjoy a beautiful sunset

  Wow what an experience! Getting picked up in an old fashioned original Land Rover and taken through the Cretan hills before on top of a beautiful sunset spot. Chance to meet some of the locals including Lucy the hill goat, and finished off with a lovely dinner at a local Greek taverna. If you are lucky enough to get Michael as your guide you’re in for a treat. Great knowledge of the area, fantastic driver and even better DJ… mixing music to the experience and road type as you ascend the mountains. Great value for money and great way to spend an evening!!

• 5amazing experience for everyone

  It was an amazing experience, really worth your money. Our guide Michael was really funny and told us interesting things about the tour in a fun non-boring way. He also played some nice songs in the car. We went to a local farmer, through some small towns, went to the dam, … At the sunset location the views were breathtaking and you could enjoy it with some prosecco and fruits. On the way back you get a nice dinner at a taverna (included in the price), and you can also go to a little souvenir shop. The way back you can see the coastline and city lights in the dark. The offroad parts throughout the trip were also really fun. My boyfriend and me really loved this trip and would recommend it.

  What a wonderful experience we had this evening, led by our guide, Dimitri, who shared fascinating insights about the stunning landscape of Crete. We explored the countryside, visited a small goat farm where we were warmly welcomed by the friendly locals, discovered centuries-old churches, and, of course, admired the olive groves that are so characteristic of Greece. As we slowly climbed to an altitude of over 1,000 meters, we were surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of nature and witnessed a truly spectacular sunset. Thank you, Dimitri, for this unforgettable experience!
