No apologies, no permission—this tour is the truth they couldn't kill. Step into the unwritten, unapologetic history of northern Barbados. Gathering at the Esplanade, we occupy the spaces where landmarks were erased to uncover the true stories of Black resistance, economic sovereignty, and unyielding Bajan spirit. Together, we bridge the gap between our ancestors and their sovereign descendants: • Reclaiming Erased Spaces: From the "Blood in the Mortar" of Skinner House to the living legacy of Tyrone’s Bar. • Honoring the Martyrs: Resurrecting the leaders of the 1675 and 1692 rebellion plots who sacrificed everything on these streets. • Economic Defiance: Revealing the underground trade networks run by Free Black shopkeepers and enslaved Bajans. • Unbroken Resilience: Tracing how our community survived betrayal, devastating hurricanes, and the fires of 1876 to reclaim its heat. This isn't just a history lesson—it’s a resurrection of the Black pulse.

Unapologetically Black: Blood in the Mortar of Speightstown is an act of resistance. Because our landmarks are buried under colonial myth, we cannot tour what "is"—we tour what must be remembered. Since few physical sites remain, we convene at the Speightstown Esplanade to resurrect the stories history forgot. We reveal a town that held more Free Black businesses than any other—thriving hubs of economic sovereignty where Black shopkeepers and enslaved workers built a defiant, independent world. We map the Price of Liberty: martyrs burnt and beheaded; the Governor’s Campaign of Terror; and the Cost of Betrayal in Fortuna’s story. We honor the Cuffee rebellion and the Black struggle of 1876, when the fire of revolt torched the Great House and sent the plantocracy fleeing. From the extraction of the Skinner House to the sovereignty of Tyrone’s Bar, we fill the void. We are the living archives of a stolen history. Reclaimed. Unfiltered. Unapologetically Black.
