During your visit to Ancient Olympia, you can explore the site of the first Olympic Games and the Museum of Ancient Olympia, where you can admire a remarkable collection of ancient artifacts (an extra charge of €180 applies for a guided tour. The guide must be requested at the time of booking and is subject to availability). Alternatively, you may explore the modern town of Olympia, where you can browse traditional souvenir shops, relax at one of the local cafés, or enjoy authentic Mediterranean cuisine in one of the charming tavernas.

About Katakolo

Katakolo is a small port on the west coast of the Peloponnese and the nearest harbour to ancient Olympia, where the Olympic Games began.

Katakolo sits at the tip of a small cape in the region of Elis, facing the Ionian Sea, with the island of Zakynthos visible on a clear day across the water. The port is a small waterfront of tavernas and cafés along a quay. Pyrgos, the regional town, lies a short way inland, and the coast on either side has long sandy beaches.
