4. Dating from the Middle Ages, Eze was built on top of a rocky outcrop. Walk along the cobbled streets, and reach the top of the village to find the castle ruins and the exotic garden. Enjoy the view from 1,400 feet (427 meters) high, and then head down to the Fragonard Perfume Factory (Perfumerie Fragonard).

Admire the ruins of the Trophy of the Alps, a 164-foot-tall (50-meter) monument dedicated to Emperor Augustus, built circa 7 BC on the road that once linked Italy with Cimiez (the Roman quarter of Nice).

  The tour is an absolute delight given the places we saw and the stops along the way. Truly nourishing beauty, enhanced by Ben, our tour guide. He was a lovely gentleman who shared insights, history and remarks which opened our eyes and understanding of what we were seeing. We had so much fun. The stops were perfect. Nothing rushed. Felt safe and secure, and we enjoyed it all. Can’t praise Ben enough: he was delightful.

  The tour was interesting, the guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The vehicle was comfortable and clean. The places we toured were beautiful and interesting. Overall the experience was very good and I would highly recommend the tour.

  Very personalized tour. Mixture of guided tour and fun collaboration with our tour guide. He gave us the historical background for Greeks, Romans, Algerians etc. Very interesting. Highly recommended.

About Cannes
