Itinerario
This tour starts with your pick up from your hotel at Chania and drive east by vehile to the famous pottery village of Margarites. This important center of regional pottery invites you to explore its narrow streets and hidden cafes. There you will have a one-hour experiential workshop guided tour that includes a brief introduction to local pottery and pottery making by hand or potter's wheel.
The city of Rethymno is the third biggest town in Crete east of Chania on the north coast of Crete.Here, archeological monuments of the Ottoman and Venetian eras co-exist. Enjoy a stroll in the alleys of the old town, a visit to the Turkish minarets and the Venetian fortresses, or a lunch at the magnificent harbor. About Chania
Chania, on Crete's north-west coast, is a Venetian harbour town of old mosques and tall houses, with mountain gorges and beaches within reach.
Chania's old harbour is a crescent of tall Venetian houses facing a stone breakwater and a lighthouse rebuilt by the Egyptians in the nineteenth century. The domed Mosque of the Janissaries stands on the quay, left from the Ottoman centuries, and behind it narrow lanes in the Splantzia and Topanas quarters pass Venetian and Ottoman houses, churches and small workshops. The cross-shaped covered market sells cheese, honey and herbs.
