Itinerario
Enjoy a comprehensive tour to all six Monasteries and have the chance to visit the interior of one or two of them. Visit the oldest monument of the area situated in the old city of Kalabaka. In the walls of this church for hundreds of years, marbles of an ancient temple were hidden. The marbles belonged to the temple of God Apollo. Nowadays that the plaster which covered them is removed you will be able to see God’s face represented as the Sun.

Great tour, highly recommend when visiting Meteora
5Great introduction to the monasteries of Meteora.
You get to see all six monasteries, and go inside one. It also stops at other points of interest along the way. The sunset was gorgeous!

The guide had a great sense of humor and was extremely knowledgeable. The driver did an amazing job in very tight spaces. I thought the tour was perfect! I also did not remember where to meet my tour and they picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel--above and beyond !! Great service!!

Beautiful views of the monasteries. Great experience meeting the nuns in the little shop. Very friendly. Tour guide was extremely informative. Sunset was magical. Seeing all of the monasteries was very mystical and so far the best place I’ve been in Greece.

About Meteora
Meteora is a UNESCO site in central Greece where Orthodox monasteries stand on tall pillars of rock above the Thessalian plain.
Meteora is a forest of sandstone and conglomerate pillars, some hundreds of metres high, rising abruptly from the plain of Thessaly beside the town of Kalambaka. From the fourteenth century monks built monasteries on the summits, reaching them at first by ladders and rope nets, and six are still active. The Great Meteoron, Varlaam and Roussanou are among them, with frescoed chapels and views down the Pineios valley.
