In evidenza

See Kingston’s many attractions and landmarks uptown and downtown in approximately four hours. Stop for a minute, visit for a few, take pictures for a second, shop if you want to and keep on moving. It’s a very fulfilling and flexible experience where you get to know Kingston better than most natives.

Itinerario

  1. You will be picked up at your hotel in Kingston. We will meet you in the lobby and provide a five minute summary of the tour, answer any questions and board the transport. Immediately upon leaving the hotel your tour guide will start providing information and history of the area and its landmarks. The first destination is a drive around downtown Kingston, where you will see historical architecture, market places, old train stations, seat of government, Courts, Main Street, major business areas, Memorials of National Heroes and major churches... and that's for starters. After downtown, which should take approximately an hour and a half, we head uptown along a route that will introduce you to our military base, libraries, play theaters, National Stadium, wealthy residences (Beverly Hills) and make a short rest stop (if desired). We then continue to the Hope Gardens, the Chinese Garden and a drive by of the Bob Marley Museum (not inside). Two hours later, everyone should be hungry so we top off the trip by visiting the grounds and garden of the colonial Estate of Devon House. Devon House is known for its premium ice cream with large serving portions and specialty bakery that is loaded with Jamaican meat pies (patties) and delectable sweets. Finally, you will get dropped off at your hotel and escorted into the lobby where the hotel will be informed that you have arrived back "Safe and Sound".

About Kingston

Kingston, Jamaica's capital, is a harbour city between the Blue Mountains and the sea, the home of reggae and the Bob Marley Museum.

Kingston lies on a natural harbour sheltered by a long sand spit, the Palisadoes, with the Blue Mountains rising behind. Port Royal, at the tip of the spit, was a pirate haven until an earthquake in 1692 sank much of it, and Fort Charles still stands. The city was founded afterwards on the opposite shore. Devon House, a nineteenth-century mansion, and the National Gallery of Jamaica are in the centre.

Top-ranked sights in Kingston: Bob Marley Museum, Port Royal, National Gallery.
