About Patmos
Patmos is a small Dodecanese island where tradition says Saint John wrote the Book of Revelation in a cave, above a whitewashed hilltop town.
Patmos is a small, rocky island in the Aegean Sea, north-west of Kos and reached by ferry. Its main town, Chora, climbs a hill around the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian, a fortified monastery founded in the eleventh century, and the harbour of Skala lies on the coast below. The monastery and the town are a UNESCO World Heritage site.
