Itinerario

  1. Your day begins with your Greenock shore excursion heading through to ‘Braveheart’ country, to visit Stirlingshire and Stirling Castle, arguably one of Scotland’s most important fortresses. Below the Castle, the Old Town of Stirling is still protected by its original walls, built in the 16th Century to protect Mary, Queen of Scots from Henry VIII. Here we will stop to enjoy time to tour the castle, learn all about the exploits of Robert the Bruce and the infamous Scottish Queen, and enjoy refreshments at the castle’s charming café.

    1,5 h

  2. In the heart of the Trossachs your shore excursion will make a stop at Kilmahog to maybe see some highland cattle up close. We then journey to the village of Aberfoyle located just below the Highland faultline, to enjoy a bite to eat and time to explore.

    1 h

  3. From Aberfoyle, we travel to our final stop at the conservation village of Luss, located on the ‘bonnie, bonnie banks’ of Loch Lomond, one of the most breathtaking and largest lochs in Scotland. Here we have time to stroll around the beautiful village and observe the many islands, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

  • 4Driver cum guide and tour...

Driver cum guide and tour was nice n informative but could be better if there was an additional guide as well. As there were 2 buses at pickup for same excursion there was confusion n miscommunication between the drivers causing our wheelchair to be left behind at the pickup. Luckily it was still there when we returned to the pickup point outside cruise port gate! Driver did get us a wheelchair at Stirling Castle but we didn't have one at the other stops. Would have been better had we have our wheelchair with us. Otherwise driver was very helpful n provided good information/ history of places covered on excursion .

  • 3Confusion on Stirling tickets

The driver was great. The people on the bus were impatient. No bathroom on the bus. When we went to scan our tickets to enter Stirling the ticket was turned away and there was a confrontation with Timberbush and the ticket attendant.

  • 3Least favorite tour of the trip so far

Interesting stops - the highland cows was the best although a shortened stop due to being stuck in traffic on our way out. It was a rainy day so that wasn’t any fault of the tour operator. The first part of the trip (sitting in the back of the bus) we couldn’t hear the operator also driver. We had him turn up the mic and realized all we were missing were the bad jokes he was telling. It would have been nice to hear more about the area rather than him practicing his jokes. Andrew was our tour operator. I don’t recommend him.

I think if we had a better travel guide, we would’ve enjoyed the ride to and from much better. Make sure you have a rain jacket or an umbrella. The weather said it would not be raining in the afternoon and it was.

About Glasgow

Glasgow is Scotland's largest city, a Victorian port on the Clyde with galleries, live music and red-sandstone terraces, and Loch Lomond close by.

Glasgow grew on the River Clyde through shipbuilding, tobacco and trade, and its Victorian wealth shows in the red sandstone of its terraces, museums and merchant halls. The medieval cathedral, which survived the Reformation intact, stands beside the Necropolis, a hill of Victorian tombs. The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, a red-stone palace, holds Salvador Dalí's Christ of St John of the Cross and a Spitfire hanging in its hall.

Top-ranked sights in Glasgow: Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park, Glasgow Cathedral, George Square.
