Tulamben is widely regarded as one of the best macro diving destinations in Indonesia and is a favorite location for underwater photographers from around the world. Unlike reef dives that focus on large marine life, macro diving is all about discovering the ocean's hidden treasures. Many of the species found at Tulamben's macro sites are exceptionally well camouflaged and often overlooked by inexperienced divers. Our experienced local dive guides specialize in locating rare critters and helping photographers maximize their underwater photography opportunities. The black volcanic sand environment creates excellent contrast for underwater photography, while calm conditions and shallow dive profiles allow divers to spend more time searching for unique marine life and capturing memorable images. Groups are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of four certified divers per PADI Dive Guide, ensuring a relaxed, personalized, and photographer-friendly diving experience.
