Authentic Mauritian Cooking & Local Market Experience

Hosted by Jaya, a passionate ambassador of Mauritian cuisine, this experience is about sharing the flavours, stories and traditions that have been part of our island for generations. Jaya will guide you through the ingredients, spices and cooking techniques that make Mauritian food so unique. Your journey begins at the colourful Surinam Local Market, where you will discover how locals shop for fresh vegetables, herbs and ingredients used in everyday Mauritian cooking. Take time to meet local vendors, explore the market and experience the authentic rhythm of village life. Back in the kitchen, you will prepare a traditional Mauritian meal together, learning step by step while enjoying local drinks and the joyful sounds of Sega music. More than just cooking, this is a chance to share stories, taste authentic flavours and experience the warmth and hospitality of Mauritius like a local.
