We'll discuss Lancaster's outsized role in the history of our country, some of the most prominent figures in that history, as well as tell you a couple of surprising stories about impactful people and events from our past.

We'll share a brief history of the Central Market - the oldest continuously operating farmers market in the U.S. On Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays when the market is open we will have the chance to go inside for a brief tour.

About Lancaster
Lancaster is a Pennsylvania city in the heart of Amish farm country, with a historic public market, old streets and rolling farmland all around.
Lancaster lies in south-eastern Pennsylvania, in a countryside of rolling fields and stone barns settled by German-speaking farmers, the Pennsylvania Dutch. The Amish and Mennonite communities of the county still farm with horse-drawn equipment, and buggies share the back roads with cars. In the city, Central Market, housed in a red-brick Romanesque building, has been a farmers' market since the 18th century.
