Höjdpunkter

See the famous Pastoruri Glacier before it disappears forever! Ths day tour begins with a stop to see the massive Puya Raimondii plants that can grow up to 120m. Once dropped off by the car, you have the option to walk or take a horse to a breathtaking 5250m where you'll appreciate the quickly shrinking glacier. Great option for acclimitization if you're looking to hit higher altitudes!

About Huaraz

Huaraz, in Peru's Ancash region, is a high mountain town beneath the snow peaks of the Cordillera Blanca, the base for trekking and climbing.

Huaraz lies at about 3,000 metres in the Callejón de Huaylas valley, between the glaciated Cordillera Blanca to the east and the drier Cordillera Negra to the west. The town was rebuilt after the 1970 earthquake, so it is modern and low-rise; its setting is the draw, with Huascarán, Peru's highest mountain at 6,768 metres, standing nearby.

Top-ranked sights in Huaraz: Llanganuco Lakes (Lagunas Llanganuco), Mt. Alpamayo, Pastoruri Glacier.
