3. Set within the walls of a medieval fortified village, this 11th-century winery carries a legacy of four generations dedicated to crafting wine, olive oil, and vinegar. The winemaking process unfolds in former castles, basements, deconsecrated churches, and other historic buildings throughout the village, connected by a unique network of underground “vinoducts.” You’ll enjoy a wine tasting in the wine room inside the former castle, followed by a gourmet lunch in a regal setting that beautifully preserves timeless traditions.

Though destroyed at one point, the castle rose from its ruins, and new dwellings were built, allowing the vineyards surrounding this medieval hamlet to produce valuable wines. As early as the 18th century, Grand Duke Peter Leopold of Tuscany praised these wines, noting the exceptional quality of the vines around the Castle. The winery is renowned for its world-awarded wines, blending long-standing traditions with modern practices.
