Höjdpunkter

The tour is not massive, but a small group experience, guided by local experts with more than 20 years of experience in the Amazon rainforest. You will explore the Amazon authentically: you will sail along the world’s fastest river, learn about wildlife (pink dolphins, monkeys, exotic birds) and learn about medicinal plants directly in their habitat. In addition, you will have close contact with native communities, sharing customs and traditions that are not shown on conventional tours. With Monteros Expedition, every traveler receives personalized, safe and organized attention, combining adventure, culture and nature in a unique and unforgettable experience.

About Iquitos

Iquitos is a river city in the Peruvian Amazon, reached only by air or water, a port of rubber-boom mansions and stilt-house neighbourhoods.

Iquitos stands on the Amazon in the Peruvian rainforest, and no road links it to the rest of the country; people and goods arrive by river or by air. The city flourished in the late nineteenth-century rubber boom, and some mansions of that time survive, with tiled façades, around the Plaza de Armas. The Malecón Tarapacá, a riverfront promenade, looks out over the water.

Top-ranked sights in Iquitos: Amazon River, Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, Floating City of Belen.
