It represents the greatest example of 19th-century Romanticism in Portugal, with different influences from the Manueline and Moorish styles. You may wander through its lush gardens, which have more than five hundred tree species from all over the world. The famous composer Richard Strauss named this magnificent palace the "Castle of the Holy Grail". Important: Entrance to the Pena Palace is subject to availability, and it's only possible with a previously booked date and time.

  3. As an alternative to the Pena Palace, you may visit the extravagant Quinta da Regaleira, which was built in the 20th century.
