Piriápolis is a Uruguayan spa city in the department of Maldonado. It was the first spa city in the country. It receives many Argentine visitors and a growing number of Brazilians and Europeans, although domestic tourism is the most important. It was built emulating the spas of the European "Côte d'Azur".
Located in front of the port of Piriápolis, Cerro San Antonio is one of the best panoramic points of the resort. The exceptional view that it offers from its 130 meters high makes it known as “the balcony of the city.”
The Punta Ballena viewpoint is a place that you should not miss if you are in the area. The access has a beautiful environment and the view from the viewpoint into the Atlantic Ocean and the Sierra de las Ánimas is excellent.
Built in an open fight against the straight line and with the concept of a bread oven, it is the greatest work in the architecture of Carlos Páez Vilaró, who modeled it with his own hands for more than forty years. There he lived, worked and treasured his collections. Carlos Páez Vilaró was also the father of a survivor of the famous Tragedy of the Andes.
Mansa Beach is a beach located in the cities of Maldonado and Punta del Este, Maldonado. Mansa Beach usually has waves of small height and low frequency, which is why it is preferred by families with children and older people. Its entire promenade is bordered by beautiful mansions with large gardens, as well as modern buildings and hotels.
The Port of Punta del Este, also known as Puerto Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, is an international marina located in Punta del Este, Maldonado, Uruguay. The Leonel Viera Bridge, popularly known as La Barra Bridge or Undulating Bridge, is a Uruguayan highway bridge that crosses the Maldonado stream, thus allowing communication between the spa cities of El Tesoro and Punta del Este. A man named Martínez, the first owner of the La Barra hotel, La Posta del Cangrejo, would have convinced the then Uruguayan president Eduardo Víctor Haedo to build a bridge that would connect that town with Punta del Este.

About Montevideo
Montevideo is Uruguay's relaxed capital on the Río de la Plata, with an old-town peninsula, a long seafront promenade and a love of grilled meat.
Montevideo spreads along the north shore of the Río de la Plata, where the river is as wide as a sea. The Ciudad Vieja, the old town on a small peninsula, is where the city began in the 1720s, a district of Art Deco and colonial buildings. Plaza Independencia opens onto it, with the Palacio Salvo tower and the statue and mausoleum of José Artigas, the national hero, and the Teatro Solís, opened in 1856, stands nearby.
Top-ranked sights in Montevideo: Rambla of Montevideo (Rambla de Montevideo), Montevideo Independence Plaza (Plaza Independencia), Montevideo Port Market (Mercado del Puerto).
