We will start with the San Martín Park, a great work from the beginning of the 20th century, made possible thanks to the irrigation of the province. The use of canals and exploitation of meltwater. We will continue on our way, following the Mendoza River and its slopes to its main source, Lake Potrerillos. We will visit the Cipolletti dam, Cacheuta and finally the lake. There, if you wish, we can do a little trekking to have fabulous views of the mountain. We will show you some of the most beautiful corners of the city of Mendoza in a mountainous and tourist area around Cacheuta and Lake Potrerillos. About Mendoza
Mendoza is a wine city of tree-lined avenues and irrigation channels on a dry plain, with the high Andes rising to the west.
Mendoza was largely rebuilt after the earthquake of 1861, which is why its streets are wide and its squares open. Plane trees shade the pavements, watered by old irrigation channels called acequias. Plaza Independencia sits at the centre with four smaller squares around it, and the great Parque General San Martín climbs to the Cerro de la Gloria, a monument with a view over the city.
Top-ranked sights in Mendoza: Puente del Inca (Inca Bridge), Uspallata, Aconcagua Provincial Park.
