Before reaching this extreme terrain, the adventure begins in the subtropical lowlands, characterized by rhododendron forests and peaceful villages. We are greeted with smiles from local Rai, Limbu, and other local ethnic groups. Learning about their lifestyle is, for some, more memorable than the alpine views.
