About Bergen
Bergen is Norway's rainy fjord capital, a harbour city of colourful wooden wharf houses, mountain funiculars, a fish market and the gateway to the fjords.
Bergen sits between seven hills and the sea on Norway's west coast, with the wooden buildings of Bryggen, once the Hanseatic League's trading wharf and now a World Heritage site, lined along the harbour. The steep gabled houses stand in rows with narrow passages between them.
