  1. In the heart of the Monchique Hills for many generations our local firewater has been distilled by locals. We now offer you the opportunty to visit one of our local destillerys . You will be pickuped in the center of Monchique, to travel by Mini Van, across the Monchique hills to arrive at an old destillery, where you will learn all about the magic making of Medronho, explained by the producer and followed by a tasting and some cake or local snack.

About Faro

Faro is the capital of Portugal's Algarve, a small walled old town beside the Ria Formosa lagoon, with sandy barrier islands a short boat ride away.

Faro is built around a marina and an old town enclosed by walls, entered through the neoclassical Arco da Vila. Inside, quiet lanes lead to the cathedral and to the Carmo Church, whose Chapel of Bones is lined with the skulls and bones of monks. The city feels more local than the resorts along the coast.
