5Last minute booking; super worth it!
Amazing little tour where you get to hear all of the ghost stories. The butcher was really lovely, funny and drew you in! Definitely recommend it!
5Interesting and fun
A lighthearted one hour walk with tales of the past and some ghost stories. Sprinkled with humour. Good value and you will learn some interesting facts about Skipton.
5Fun ghostly tour
This was a fun tour, great guide and she took us to lots of interesting places down alleys and canal side including past a watermill. Lots of ghostly tales too
5Fun and quirky ghost tour
Our guide "the Butcher" gave us a very fun and quirky tour of Skipton and its dark history! We loved the humour and interesting stories. An absolutely fantastic way to spend an hour, we would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Skipton.
4**A fun and different way to discover Skipton**
**A fun and different way to discover Skipton** I went on the Skipton Ghost Walking Tour with friends, and overall it was a very enjoyable and different way to spend an evening in Skipton. The guide was enthusiastic, theatrical and full of energy, mixing local history, ghost stories, folklore and plenty of humour as we walked through the old streets, yards and along the canal. My friends particularly enjoyed the jokes and laughed along the way. English is not my first language, and my main difficulty was understanding the guide’s strong local accent. Because the experience relies so much on storytelling, I missed the meaning of quite a lot stories and jokes at the time. Afterwards I read more about some of the places and stories from the tour, and I actually appreciated the experience much more once I understood what she had been talking about. I had initially expected something a little more spooky, but in hindsight we also chose a very bright time of day, which naturally took away some of the ghostly atmosphere. The tour is really a mixture of dark local history, folklore, ghost stories and British humour rather than a “ghost hunt” — and for the price I think it offers very good value. One small suggestion would be a short written summary or QR code with the main stories and locations. It would be really helpful for international visitors or anyone who finds a strong local accent difficult to follow. Overall, a fun, unusual and good-value introduction to another side of Skipton.
5Brilliant tour, would highly recommend
My husband and I booked this tour on a rare child free weekend away in Skipton and we’re not disappointed. From the very beginning, The Butcher was entertaining, engaging and extremely knowledgeable. She had the perfect balance of knowledge, comedy, scary tales and lingering eye contact to make the hour long walk very enjoyable. We purchased the optional emotional support ghosts (to then gift to our children afterwards), and they were a delight, very cute and cuddly, so much so I almost couldn’t pass it on to our 8 year old!

About Leeds
Leeds is West Yorkshire's big city, a Victorian centre of arcades and markets with galleries, a waterfront and the Yorkshire Dales within reach.
Leeds grew in the nineteenth century on wool, cloth and engineering, and its Victorian centre shows it in the grand Town Hall, the oval Corn Exchange and the glass-roofed shopping arcades of the Victoria Quarter. Kirkgate Market is one of the biggest covered markets in Europe, and it is where Michael Marks first set up the penny bazaar that grew into a national retailer.
