MEETING OUR GUIDE. Your guide will be waiting for you at the entrance of the Museum & she will have a sign with your name written. EXPLORING THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE. Inset on wide terraces along the hillside we are fortunate that the landslides of previous centuries preserved much of the ancient remains for us, including the 4th century BC temple of Apollo from where the Oracle spoke her prophecies along with the Castilian spring of Mythology, theatre, treasury buildings, temples of Athena and Gymnasium where athletes gathered before the Pythian games to bathe in the sacred waters. During your visit to Delphi, you can still see the physical structures associated with this incredibly long history a your expert guide brings their History to life before you.
TOURING THE MUSEUM. A beautiful addition to the site is the modern museum which displays finds stretching back in time to at least 1500 BC, including many of the sculptures & other unique pieces that adorned the temples & streets of the site at its peak around the 4th century BC. Outstanding pieces include the Naxos Sphynx, the twin Kouroi, and the famous Bronze Charioteer among others.

5Very informative and understandable.
Our guide was an archeology student and very knowledgeable about the history of the area. He explained in great depth all about the history of the temple of Apollo at Delphi. We had a great time.

- The meeting point is the entrance to the Museum (first floor). As you face the Museum, there is a staircase in the right-hand side of the building, which ends at the entrance. There is a parking area along the main road directly below the site. This can be busy so we advise you arrive in good time.

About Delphi
Delphi is an ancient sanctuary and modern village on the slopes of Mount Parnassus in central Greece, where the oracle of Apollo once spoke.
Delphi was the most important oracle of the ancient Greek world, dedicated to the god Apollo, and its sanctuary climbs the mountain slope in terraces. Visitors walk the Sacred Way past treasuries built by Greek cities, the ruins of the temple of Apollo, and the theatre and stadium higher up. Lower down the road, the round Tholos at the sanctuary of Athena Pronaia is one of the best-known sights of the site.
