1. This is considered one of the richest churches in Europe. It was built in Italy in 1742 and arrived in Lisbon in 1747, after being transported in three boats. It is a masterpiece of Italian art unique in the world. The fourth chapel to the left of the altar mixes ivory, agate, lapis lazuli and gold. The facade is simple and austere, contrasting with the interior, enriched by gilded carving, paintings and tiles, polychrome marble, painting and sculpture.

The baroque statuary and the harmonious interior stand out, where the use of marble stands out. Still inside, we can see the admirable nativity scene by Machado de Castro (18th century), with figures in cork and terracotta.
