A must see if ever in York. Scary, funny and informative. The actors are all brilliant. It took a while to get the heart rate back to normal !!!
5Good
Very good, well worth going, extremely fun.
1Too many people crammed into the attraction took away from what otherwise would have been a great experience
Unfortunately, our tour was totally and utterly packed to the point that it became uncomfortable and, at times, extremely claustrophobic. The FAQ stated that there would be no more than 20 people on each tour. Unfortunately, there were 25 people on ours, and we were all completely crammed into the tiny rooms. This was particularly uncomfortable in the areas where there were benches and we were expected to sit down — we were practically sitting on top of one another! I am autistic and find very tight, crowded spaces incredibly uncomfortable and distressing, so being packed into these tiny rooms with so many people was particularly difficult for me. I also want to point out that we did not visit during peak season. We went on a Sunday, three weeks after the school term had started, so I can only imagine how crowded and uncomfortable it must be during school holidays and peak periods. The beginning of the tour was also incredibly disorganised and confusing. We were all queuing outside the building when, at our scheduled tour time, a member of staff came out and told us that we should use the toilets because there are no toilets inside the attraction. As a result, around half of the queue went off to the toilet. They then started scanning tickets while many of the people holding the tickets for their groups were still in the toilet! When we finally got inside, we were left standing in a corridor with very little direction and no clear idea of what was happening. Eventually, when we reached the front of the queue, we realised that the reason everything was taking so long was because they were taking photographs of every group before the tour. Our 2:00pm tour did not actually begin until around 2:30pm. It is such a shame because the storytelling and the actors were genuinely incredible and were easily the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, the decision to put far too many people into such small, claustrophobic rooms, combined with the messy, disorganised and confusing start to the experience, really took away from what could have been a fantastic tour. I really hope the organisers reconsider the group sizes and improve the organisation, because the actual performance deserves a much better experience around it.
5The best experience ever
The whole start to end was amazing!! I took my teenager 13 for the first time who loves history and loves the stories behind it and he had the best time ever!! I laughed all the way through and a few screams.

About York
York is a walled cathedral city in northern England, a place of Roman and Viking history, medieval lanes and a vast Gothic minster.
York Minster, among the largest Gothic cathedrals in northern Europe, towers over the city, and its stained glass includes the Great East Window, one of the biggest areas of medieval glass in the country. Medieval walls, the longest in England, encircle the old centre and can be walked along the top. The Shambles, a narrow lane of leaning timber-framed buildings, was once the street of butchers.
