1. Your knowledgeable guides are trained to seek out all of the park’s most iconic creatures. Big or small, there are lots of animals to see in Jasper! Elk, deer, sheep, goats, coyotes, wolves, and moose are just a sample of Jasper’s wild mountain fauna. Learn all about the ways these animals contribute to the rich diversity of the National Park and how they survive the mountain winters. Your guide is well versed in the history, geology, and ecology of the area and is happy to answer any questions you may have. As you travel through the Athabasca Valley you will see some of the park’s most beautiful scenery, so have your camera ready to capture some amazing photos of the highlights of your visit. • 2Disappointing

  We were on the 6:30 am wildlife tour. Our guide seemed like a nice guy, but he was pessimistic about the likelihood of finding much wildlife right from the start. It is understandable that the whereabouts of the wildlife is out of his control but he was very 'unchatty'. When we got off the bus and were chatting to him then, he told us a lot of interesting information.....our trip would have been more interesting had he shared some of his knowledge with the whole bus. As it was, the trip was boring and a waste of money. We decided to do our own tour later that day and saw a moose and a grizzly bear at close quarters. Maybe a rethink about how these tours are organised is warranted.

• 5Great half-day out for anyone who has come to Jasper wanting to see some of its wildlife.

  Very knowledgeable (and amazingly eagle-eyed) driver kept us all engaged fully during the whole outing. Good variety of wildlife seen, together with interesting countryside. As with any safari-type trip a lot of the excitement of the trip came from ‘the thrill of the chase’ and from not knowing what would be coming up next. Our driver (Steve) set clear and realistic expectation levels at the beginning of the journey, then proceeded to deliver more than expected.

  We were picked up from our hotel by a very friendly lady driver who took us to various locations around Jasper. We got to see lots of lovely scenery and animals the best of which was a black bear. He was eating Berries on the side of the road. Keeping a respectful distance we had lots of time to watch the bear and take photos. This was the highlight of the trip. We also saw elk, longhorn sheep, bald head Eagles including juveniles. Also Osprey and squirrels. Would definitely recommend this tour. It's well worth it.

  The tour guide was knowledgeable. We got to see so many animals that I would have driven right past had I not been on the tour. We got great photos and learned so much about Jasper.

• 5Amazing tour for one and all

  We had a wonderful tour with Yvonne, she was so knowledgeable about the area and told it like a story around the campfire. We were given an amazing historical background of Jasper and area as well as the unfortunate devastation from the fire in 2024. We would highly recommend this fantastic tour.

About Jasper

Jasper is a mountain town on the Athabasca River in Alberta, inside the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, among glaciers, lakes and wildlife.

Jasper sits at about 1,060 metres on the Athabasca River, ringed by peaks, in the largest national park of the Canadian Rockies. The town grew around the railway in the early twentieth century, and elk graze on its lawns and wander its streets. The park, together with its neighbours, forms the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage site, and it is one of the largest dark-sky preserves in the world.
